ABOUT THE CHOIR
The Boiler House Singers have been going for nine years, under the direction of Tara Creme, a composer and conductor who arranges much of the music for the choir. Members are all ages and anybody is welcome to join.
We sing a wide variety of music - country, folk, pop, classical. Our last concert for example included Rhianna's Diamonds, Creedence Clearwater Revival's Have you ever seen the rain? Nick Cave's Ship Song and a Georgian hymn among many others. Full song list on repertoire page.
We perform a few concerts a year, usually informal and always hugely enjoyable occasions, featuring musician friends and audience singalongs.
As well as our regular Christmas and Summer concerts in local venues, we have taken part in a number of other events over the years, for example; Abney Park chapel; Sing Up festival at the South Bank; York Rise Street Festival; performing new music as a choir in the Tower Theatre's King Charles III production..
